Donald H. Lauriente began working as a consultant in 1981, following 20 years of industry experience with Cominco Ltd. and has since been working with a network of other highly experienced and qualified private consultants to provide a broad range of services to the mining, chemical, fertilizer, and agricultural industries.

In 1984, Mr. Lauriente was recruited for the position of Senior Consultant & Business Manager - Fertilizers, at SRI International (SRI) in Menlo Park, California. He is the principal author of numerous reports in SRI's Chemical Economics Handbook (CEH), including those covering the Nitrogen, Phosphate, Sulphur, Potash, and Silicate Industries. He is the manager and principal author of the multiclient programs; NITROGEN VALUES, WORLD NITROGEN, WORLD PHOSPHATES, and WORLD POTASH that have been conducted jointly by SRI and Don Lauriente in recent years. He has also been the project manager and principal author of a wide variety of single client studies and reports for industrial, government, and institutional clients in many countries.

In mid-1993, Mr. Lauriente arranged to continue managing SRI's Fertilizer Consulting Business from a remote office and reactivated DH Lauriente Consultants Ltd. in Vancouver, British Columbia. This contractual arrangement, which allowed him to conduct specific single client projects under the auspices of either SRI or DHLC, remained in effect for eight years.
